8-speed performance
Chevrolet Performance has adapted the production-based 8L90-E 8-speed automatic transmission for use with the LT1, LT4, and LT5 crate engines.
 
A match for LT1, LT4, or LT5
The 8L90E fits only the GEN V LT1, LT4 or LT5 engines. A numerically higher 4.56 first gear ratio offers strong take-off performance while a double-overdrive sixth gear ratio of 0.65:1 helps optimize cruising efficiency. The 8L90E from Chevrolet Performance is equipped with a slip-yoke design tail shaft.
