Capable of handling an impressive 495 lb-ft of torque, the 4L70-E 4-speed transmission for your two- (P/N 19368613) or four-wheel-drive (P/N 19368612) project car is a compact, all-aluminum transmission that accommodates your street performance needs.
 
Based on the renowned Hydra-Matic 4L60-E and 4L65-E 4-speed overdrive transmissions, the 4L70-E delivers greater torque-carrying capacity and increased durability. It features five-pinion gearsets, heat-treated stator shaft splines, an induction-hardened turbine shaft, seven-plate clutch, and specific valve-body calibration. GM-engineered, -tested, and -validated to deliver smooth shifts, it more than meets the demands of your high-performance engine.
 
Please note that the 4L70-E does not include a torque converter. This allows you to match your engine to the specific converter stall speed characteristics best suited for your vehicle’s intended use.
